Todays presentations were interesting. I really enjoyed the digital microscope, I really did not get the name of it. This tool can be used for any science projects the students are doing. I also like the voki because you can make youself out to be what you want, great too for children to use in making stories and animating them, I liked it. I have learnt something new and very interesting with these presentations. Thank you everyone.

This has been an interesting course, imaging without the sound is nothing. I would not have understood the podcast that you showed because the sound was so intense. We should not take things like the creative aspects of learning away from our children, this is the way the future is going and we need to be aware and the main thing is that the teacher is willing to make that change for the better. If we break this barrier then we have accomplished a great deal towards bettering the learning process in education.

Some things that concern me the most is when students should not give out their addresses, home phone numbers and any other personal information. All student are made aware not to post their personal information from the computer teacher once they enter the computer lab. Students should always ask the teacher even before they post anything if it is ok to post it....review by the teacher. All students should show respect to everyone they meet on line and to have respect on the wikis and blogs.

Everyone can use a blog to express your ideas and thoughts on any subject. A blog gives us time to think about an idea and you can make comments on a blog. The ideas are viewed as each ones opinion but the wikis can and will recieve correction and it tends to contain critizism. The author of a book gets the opinions and ideas of a student who can help the author write the book. This can be helpful and the student has a hand in creating or collaborating in writing a book.

High Speed Internet is a very useful tool to have today because of the time it takes to log on to a computer using dail up. By the time a whole class can log in during computer class time ...their class time is over. This is one the reasons why high speed is necessary especially for the schools. Another reason is ,time, alot of people today are either rushing to and from work or other places. People today do not have the patience like people before modern technology. The community who has this essential tool have more power to control their services as well as gaining other resources from else where. This is why I believe that both students and communities who have access to high speed internet have both time and power with this tool.

I think that blogging is and can be a very useful tool used in the classrooms because children with great imagination will give you their opinions which can lead to a great story. These students will eventually realize that they are writers and the best thing about this is that they are also authors who have been published. I find that alot of students do not like to use a pencil when it comes down to creating stories that is why this is an excellent tool for every teacher to create a class blogg for their classroom.

I have been looking forward to class all day...hoping there will a little excitement and for sure there is going to be....special speaker. I startewd reading my text book, Blogs, wikis. podcasts...it seems pretty interesting. The think that interest me the most is keeping the students safe..this will be a benificial tool for me to use in the classroom, especially of the age of the children I teach.
The thing I realize the most is how important to update urself on the new technology of today...People have to keep up to date on these things and always be prepared to change your views even if you feel strong towards them...this is to better educate your teaching strageties in the classroom...don't forget who is number one.

new term and a new time to learn more technology...hip, hip, horray! i am looking forward to this class because i have learnt so much from Jan. till today.. I can safely say that I am not scared of a computer anymore...because I know I can undo anything I have pressed mistakely...I have been searching alot more on the web...whereas..I was not even looking forward to do any research at all, now I feel confident and more sure of myself....I'm really enjoying this class now...thank you for you knowledge and am willing for some more brain input..)

I was reading the paper today ...although it was yesterdays paper that according to a study done Frontier Center For Public Policy that computers in schools harm early learning. They also say that it was only a waste of time and that children should spend more time with learning basic litercy skills. I teach Nursery and I have two computers in my class....I wonder if this true?....My students don't go on the computer only when they ask for it....there is no schedule times.

I have been spending alot of time trying to get familiar with my laptop. I find it very hard to get used to it. it is harder to type rather then the regular keyboard. I have looked at youtube videos and I have a facebook account. I enjoy Facebook. It seems I have less to say each time I blog lately yet I have learned more and more each week.

its been a long time but I guess it was worth it. I enjoyed the nice long break.
I received my laptop on Friday and it was a blast watching my two 6 year old grand-daughters playing with it. They have some knowledge on how to work a computer but a laptop was quite different for them. I was really surprised on how well they caught on so fast....its amazing, ....this think called technology.

getting the hang of it

I think I'm getting the hang of it. I knew I would but I figured It would take time. I was very interested in the smartboard because I will be getting one in my classroom within the next few weeks. I hope I will learn alot from it. I am eager to learn from this devise in order to teach my little ones a step towards modern technology.

This is my second blogg. I am feeling a bit intimitated because I kinda feel lost. I have been watching my son with texting and he just got the feature added on a week or so ago, yet he is typing away with his thumbs like he has been doing it for years. He can sit and eat while his phone is there on the table right beside him humming. This world is really moving fast and I am really trying hard to catch up....unsuccessfully. All I hope is I do make some progress and that I will be able to make difference within my classroom using todays technology.

This is a course I don't think I will be very good at. I am a slow typer, I use 2 fingers to type all my work. The thing I find interesting in this course is how much a person can learn with the art of digital computing. I know I will be needing alot of help from all you geniuses and I hope you will be patient with me. Looking forward to working with all of you.
